Research Strands

There are currently five research strands that make up PoCA: i)
Anti-Humanist Curating; ii) Critique and Its Institutions; iii) Irony and Overidentification; iv) The Politics of Absolute Contingency; and, v) Protest and Art Education.

Each strand is led by one or more regular members of PoCA, often but not always PoCA Steering Committee members.

Each strand of research is carried out via reading seminars, presentations and discussion with invited speakers, and more public lectures and panel discussions.

By navigating the links on the right-hand side of this page you will find specific details of the seminars, talks, lectures and other events associated with the current and past PoCA research strands.

If you would like to receive information about forthcoming PoCA activities and/or if you would like to propose a new research strand please email:
